Zoas creeping in on torch

So I've read a lot about zoas creeping in on torches and such and can't seem to come to a definite answer. I have what i believe is a cristata torch up high in some rock that also hosts my growing zoa garden. It's to the point now where the zoas are even touching the tips of the torch a they flow in the current. Surprisingly I've not seen any stinging or receding from the zoas. Now my fear is this... will they overtake this torch?

I'm pretty sure they will. I'd use stainless steel straws with a siphon to scrap and remove them from around the tourch as they grow.

They shouldn’t overtake the torch. If anything, the torch should sting the zoas, killing the polpys around the base of the torch.

The zoanthids could eventually cause issues with the torch.
The torch corals are know for stinging corals, but since the tips are generally up in the water column, they won't come in contact with the zoanthids.
I've seen zoanthids grow up on the stalks of a couple different corals.
