zoas deteriorating

Never looked at potassium. Yea The ALK has been high for awhile. What salt mix do you think is consistent at 8dkh?
I use Fritz RPM but there are a few out there. I think one was Reef Crystals but you'll have to supplement other stuff there (it is half the price, I'm a sucker for consistency). There's an AWESOME chart out there comparing MANY of the major brands (it's a bit dated but still gold) and what they are advertised to mix to. I remember thinking Fauna Marin's PRO mix looked very attractive too but also pricey. Many love Red Sea Blue bucket (NON Pro - the alk is crazy high). Note some mixes tend to 'swing' or 'vary' more than others.

Man, if it were me, I'd just let it be, don't stick hands in the tank, let your levels come down while keeping an eye on calcium levels since its at 420 and good, stop dosing nopox, and go get some vitamin c and dose about 1,000mg for a few days than up it to 1,500mg for another few days and again up to 2,000mg! This is what I did starting about a week ago and my ZOA's look brand spankin new and even popped out 1-3 heads! Keep an eye on your levels while coming down, stop dosing nopox, and dose vitamin c with your basic husbandry and water changes of course and I bet you $100 you'll come back next week posting good results! Cheers man and good luck!

Thanks for the advice

No problem man, I also have a 75 gallon with about 12 different ZOA's and palys, a Duncan, GSP, mushrooms, a stylophora (sps),one frogspawn and a rose bubble tip anemone! I was having the same problem as you to the t, last week, so I started reading and searching and came across the vitamin c dosing, so I figured what the heck, it surely wouldn't hurt my ZOA at that point considering how they were. Anyways, I don't have a before pic, but I do have a pic of them now and you can kind of see what they were doing. A couple of heads are opened back up fully and back to normal, and the one on the top and on the right are still "healing" up.......they were all like these a week ago. Again, good luck and just wanted to show you proof instead of just saying that it works with no evidence to back it up....

Also, in my experience with ZOA's and palys , they seem to like a dKH of 11-12 in my tank...my LFS and a lot I've been to always had their dKH levels at those levels. Always be careful, but if you bring levels up, especially dKH do it slowly bc zoas and palys will def get mad easy and close up or melt... Just my experience.
