Hey guys i need some tips please. The only local fish store is kind of sickly and i just got these guys 2 days ago. Now that they are not fully open i can see some small air bubbles and a little bit of brown algae. Also the zoas arent opening nearly as much as at the store. Before my tank had 0 algae and perimeters are all perfect. should i be worried about the algae? Zoes will open up later? Thank you!

PS the zoas are in a low to moderate flow area. 2.o.jpg zoas.jpg

I moved this over to the LPS forum for better response.

Looks to me like your colony is dying. Not much you can do about the algae growing on it now. If your DKH is good (8-10 I prefer) and CA2+ is good (420-440) then it could be something else causing problems.

As mentioned, those aren’t zoas...
And since that’s a gonipora, it means it’s an lps.
And since it’s an lps let’s talk about that brown algae you mentioned; it’s actually not any normal algae...

What you have is BJD, or brown jelly disease.
Extremely contagious to other lps, especially torches and acans.

You also have majanos.

I’d stop shopping at that lfs....
They have gonnaherphasyphilaids

should i just toss the entire thing?

No it's not dead nor is it brown jelly dip i iodine use a toothbrush to gently scrub the skeleton NOT the polyps meaning flesh. Then place back in low flow and low light also get some gonipower it will come back. Also Superglue over that Majano anemone.
