Some of my zoas are losing their color. Pictured below are my eagle eye zoas. S you can see, the new ones have full color, but the older ones are completely green and black and have lost all other color. My nitrates are near 0 and phosphate around 0.1. Do I need to increase nitrates? What is the best way to do this. I have been feeding quite a bit, but my nitrates never increase.

Do you spot feed your zoas?
do you have algae or a refugium that could be eating up your nutrients?
Do you run a skimmer?
@footgal

Basically what dyerrm was telling you to do. Raise your nutrients and they should start getting happy. Have you changed your lighting at all? When zoas morph to be a darker color I tend to look at it as a light issue because dark colors absorb more light. Reefroids should do the trick but just generally feeding the tank more should help to bring up that nutrient level

I spot feed ReefRoids about twice a week and have been for several months. I have an AIO so I do not run a skimmer. I was surprised my nitrate was so low after feeding Reef Roids. My phosphate would run around 0.2 the day after a feeding, but nitrate would not budge. Only running filter floss, Chemi Pure Blue, and Poly Filter for filtration.
I installed a new Hydra 32 the first of October. I was running Biocube lights until that point. As far as lighting, does this discoloration occur because of too much or too little light?

I have a huge Rasta colony that lost its orange when I transferred it into a freshly started tank. Took about a month and the color is come back.

+1 with what’s listed above, keep nutrients higher in your tank, as zoas like “dirtier” water. Also, lighting is a huge factor as well.
