Zoas melting or what?

i just got these shipped to me, This is the 2nd day in the tank. I have tons of zoas problems like this hardly ever occurs. Ive bought from many People+Vendors never any problem, They were on a really heavy Dome witch im think was getting banged around in the bag and tossed and turned there was 2 different baggies with 2 different domes. I am thinking thats what caused stress and made this happen, They were not freshly cut i saw a picture before they left the persons home. After shipping, DIpping&Acclamateing, Now i turn on the lights this morning i wait about a half hour and boom everything else open and nice and these now open at all. i put them on the sand bed with low flow to make sure i ACC them correctly, but come to find out the look like THERE MELTING! "/ witch really sucks

There is this white clearish flim around the zoas

i had zoas doing that to me, i dipped for 3 days 5-10min per day and they opened right up

definitely not fresh cuts, and i dont think its damage from banging around. you didnt mention but what was the temp of the frags when you unboxed them? and it was overnight shipping?

maybe try a lugols dip and get them into a litle bit more flow to keep the stringy stuff off

The water was cold. The heat pack was really small was a hand warmer 3.5"x2" hand warmer was not effective when i touched it. My water PArs Are all good, It was shipped USPS NEXT DAY, These dome's are heavy and were upright on the zoas when i opened the box. But if thats not it then i dont no i tried to blow The film off when i did so LIGHTLY.. one of the zoas went bye bye At this point i dont no if i should Lugos dip them and i dont no if that will stress them Even more. I dont want to loose out on them. Im so upset right now :/ they totaly are melting on me right now. so bummed..

always check the water temp of your corals when you get them what might feel cold to you might really be around 50 degrees or it might only be a couple degrees low. but always check with a thermometer and take pics of the thermometer to show the seller in case things like this pop up

at this point a lugols dip can only help

alright im gonna dothat right now.

how manny drops per oz of water? or how even i should do it. ?? these domes are 2.5" wide by 1.5-2" high.

they don't look good. Dont worry will work it out. If they do melt I will take care of you.

It was shipped USPS overnight requested by the buyer and arrived before noon.

i usually use a dropper full in one of the deli sized cups which i guess is like 8-12 oz not really something you have to be super accurate on and let it sit for 3-5 minutes

sounds good and like i told Rob you can't judge water temp by feeling it you have to use a thermometer. not really any fault to be placed here just one of those things.

Yea lugols... They look like there is a fungus on them.. They could just be decaying too which means they are a done for.

Again A+ Just never really had anything like this happen. THank you so much Bob, Yes i did request usps ive had it done plenty of times. Your a great guy bob ill give it a day or 2 and see the outcome. im gonna be dipping them right now as wee speak. Thank you all for the support i Just hope this does a 100% turn around.

Its sure not a fungus they look like tehre decaying.

I have had zoas recover after a few days of dipping when looking like that. you never know good luck
