So I got an open brain coral a week ago. Since then, my zoas near that coral have been unhappy (not as full looking or the stalks are crazy long). I only moved their rock about an inch and turned it slightly so I am not sure why they are unhappy since they are supposed to get along alright with open brain corals chemical warfare wise. The zoas are upstream so I am not sure if it chemical warfare. My parameters have stayed the same. I did lose two fish to velvet if that changes anything. Also I have zoas further in the tank that are open completely and normal. Please help!!! (First two pictures are before the new coral, last two pictures are after)

When Zoas reach like that, it usually means they're not getting enough light
Would that cause some to close or not open fully too? Also I have had the same lighting schedule and they were happy so can they decide randomly they don’t like it anymore?

open brain doesnt do chemical warfare, it has sweeper tentacles. You can check at night, you should see long thin tentacles coming out at night. Just make sure the zoa's are out of reach of the tentacles.

Will they be out every night? I’ve looked a few times but that was only an hour or two after lights out so maybe I have to wait longer

I dont know about that, but there are videos on youtube if you wanted to see what it looks like

Something changed to upset them and is generally light or flow. In this case, they are stretching in search of spectrum. Increase both white and blue 5%

I’m just confused because the flow and light hasn’t changed, only the new coral which is downstream so it isn’t blocking flow. I’ll try this out though, thank you!
