IMG_1253.JPG maybe someone here can help because i'm not getting much help from the source. I have an ASD Leprechaun zoa which has not opened up since being in my tank. It's been over a week and i'm beginning to get concerned. Any advise would be appreciated.

If it hasn't opened up in a week then it really doesn't like the spot it's at. Try to move it and see if it opens up

i would move it and see if that helps, sometimes a peroxide dip helps. a few seconds in 50/50 water and hydrogen peroxide

That sucks......Leprachauns are on my "must have" list. Coral Rx dips have sometimes worked for me and moving to a different location too. Watch for a buildup of algae or the dreaded brown dust on the polyps. I use an artist paintbrush to gently brush them off if needed. I have a couple of frags of salted agaves that have looked like that for 9 months now and never change. I've tried multiple locations of flow and light, but nothing. They don't look dead though.
Good luck, those things are beautiful.........when they open up

phosphates are .25 and nitrates between 5-10 ppm IMG_1302.JPG

this is what it looks like today

Gently brush that brown buildup off the polyp and repeat if it comes back. I've had this happen and sometimes they do recover, but don't expect it to happen overnight. I've also tried CoralRx and other antibiotic/antibacterial dips for polyps that looked like this with mixed results. I believe it is some kind of bacterial infection, but would hope someone who is way smarter than me could someday diagnose/identify it and find a fix.

my no3 levels are constantly low. when all my polyps close up I'll check no3 and its usually between 0 and 1.

Yea the brown stuff is evil. Lost half a PPE colony and some others to it recently. Furan 2 dips can sometimes work but mixed results. I try to frag off the healthy ones and set the bad ones in a different section to see if they recover.
