Zoas only tank . Dose or not to?

Hello so i have recently started a new zoa only tank.. im just wondering should i bee dosing some Alk calc mag or every 2 weeks 20% water change should be enought for them to be happy ? or maybe dose something else to make them happy like amino or something like that ?!

I dont think you'll need to dose anything but I want to hear some comments as I just set up a tank and want to add Zoas soon.

My zoas are thriving. I don't dose exactly, I use kalkwaser in the ato.

Anything specific about your system ? Refugium skimer and stuff ? And you do wc right ?

Chaeto and marine pure block in sump
2 AI Hydra 26 (not hd) lights
10 gallon wc every 2-3 weeks with natural seawater from the Scripps institute.
Lightly stocked w/7 smallish fish

I agree that you probably won't need to dose anything. When I had a predominantly zoas and LPS tank, I never dosed anything, and in fact, many reefers would probably say my maintenance bordered on neglectful. Just a skimmer, water changes, and food for the fish. Honestly, it was among the most healthy, stable, and trouble-free tanks I've ever had. It was a 56g column tank with early-version LED lights. Looking back, it actually was all zoanthids and LPS corals.

You don’t need to dose.
The WC should be enough to replenish levels.

Keep up with some water changes and you should be OK. When I had a bunch of Z&P, they would grow like crazy in the tank, but when I got busy in the summer and did not change water for 4, 5 or 6 months, some of the more sensitive ones would stop growing or die back just to take off again once I changed some water. This led me to believe that they do need some trace minerals.

You will only need to dose the big-3 if water changes cannot keep up. Coralline and some tube worms (good ones) can use up carbonate, calcium and magnesium, but you can probably just dose these by hand if you ever needed to.
