so I got this Zoa and its not growing on a rock. It's growing on a clam...or mussel? I'm not sure which it is. But I noticed that it's alive. Is it going to hurt the Zoa on it? It's glued to a plug and I stuck it on my rocks (it's not glued down) should I move to close we to the sand for the clam or just keep it where it's at?

Is it a large clam or a small hitch hiker, and is it even alive? I have "hitch hiker clams" in my live rock, for lack of a better term. If the zoas are your priority then i'd put them wherever they're happy, considering it's zoas thats pretty much anywhere...

I guess this is a common occurance I have a colony on a bivalve myself had it sitting on the frag rack now the bivalve connected itself to the back glass you can see it on the right and it's open and very much alive get close and it snaps close lol I think it's pretty neat myself you can see it's not touching the frag rack

Zoas are a pest in the wild and they grow on anything. I've seen zoas on clams, sps, snails, hermit crabs. Most of the time the clams or mussels survive as long as the zoas do not cover the mouth. You will see it open from time to time.

It's very much alive and snaps closed if I get to close. good to know that is should be ok. Thanks!
