greetings.
So I sent a pic of the zoas I had purchased from a local seller. He commented “reaching” which I didn’t realize but that’s what they was doing.... reaching for the light.
So I lowered the lights, and turned them up a few clicks.
Question... will they return to normal length or are they elongated permanently?
Thanks.
Mike

I got some zoas over 80 days ago (keeping track of my 76 day QT) and they were quite stretched out. Over an inch and are only just now starting to return to shrink back. It could take a while just don't play with them too much or they'll get ticked off.

added some additional blue only LED strips.
increased light intensity.
increased the light "on" time.
some reacted positively and have returned to "normal".
a few others that were doing well, reacted negatively.
so I'm in the process of trying to balance it to make all happy.

I have magicians that have been doing the same for about three months or so and were closed. Then I finally found my imbalance was my ph they just started to open up today. If they continue to reach should I move them up some since I am unable to bring the light closer?

7.8. I’m guessing that was the culprit for a hand full of my zoas staying closed, because once I got it at a stable 8.3 everything has started to open up and grow. But In my lack of knowledge I didn’t think anything about them reaching to do with light height until reading your post.

I’ve noticed that zoas that are reaching and have longer stalks seem to be healthier and have less issues than ones that are almost flat to the surface. Could just be a coincidence.

mine don't. the lashes have gotten shorter on the "reachers".
