Zoas turning black

I have some in some areas that are doing great others of the same colony in another part of the tank that half are doing well and a half or not in the bunch. It seems that some of them are turning black and losing their color. They are not turning white they are turning black. I have consistent lights across the tank my parents pretty high usually though it’s been low the last couple of weeks trying to figure out what the problem is.

Any ideas why they might be turning black is that too much light or too little light. I’ve been keeping them on the blues in the 380 to 460 range

All those I was in my tank are maintaining they’re not splitting and growing

Decrease their light let them settle
I’ve noticed with my zoas darker ones tend to do better in medium light brighter colored ones like a lot of light

All parameters r good a little high on alkalinity

Not trying to be offensive but my guess is that parameters aren’t fine. You are running a canister filter, have algae on the back, and that bubble tip doesn’t look super happy. I’d suggest reducing how much you feed and cleaning the canister more often (or not using one, change to a sump or HOB). I can also tell by the coralline the tank is only a couple months old right? I’d also give them more light.

Also, that’s some nice GSP, it’s really pretty.

Whatever happened to your black Zoas? My palythoa is turning black.
