Also, when I did my mini water changes during GHA 14 day adventure (just to remove excess GHA); I scrubbed all that short GHA you have on rocks with toothbrush and removed with fish net (like there was nothing left floating in water); then I turned overflow back on. You can also run siphon thru filter sock, but I don’t have the physical balance to do that.

Obviously you’re gonna do a big water change at 14-day mark and I would take that opportunity to again brush and remove all accessible GHA. The key is to diligently remove floating algae as you don’t want it in water messing up ur parameters.

It was taco Tuesday at our house! Both girls went to bed early and I'm about to watch a hockey game.

So I have never had a fuge before.
I'm learning as I go.
I've got a bunch of stuff coming over the next couple of days and I'm excited.
It's almost like I get to do a whole new tank or something.
I'll keep everyone updated of course but I'd like to say my tank is doing really well with what I've got in the fuge now.
I really have NO IDEA what I'm doing but I'm hoping you guys will all get involved with pictures, pieces and parts, knowledge no knowledge, fun and, of course food ideas along the way.

I have some cheato and don't know really how it's doing but my pod population is getting larger fast which is good because they're aren't many in either display.
I also have some ulva which is doing surprisingly well I think.
I have more cheato coming tomorrow and mangroves coming Thursday.

Oh yea pods! I have those as well. This is the light I'm using since I killed my red grow light by drowning it... The cheato seems to be growing faster with this light than it did with the red.
