No no no on galaxies! Huge sweeper tentacles - ver agreesive

Absolutely yes on their Duncan’s - I have them

I f u can grab blueberry stlyo - do it.

Favias’ are all encrusting, I love them, but consider them more filler. I have two.

The cyph - also very small profile.

I wish u could call me.

Good idea I tried the checking out to see which ones were sold out but they still have all the ones in my cart... lol

You chose quite a few difficult ones. Also, the montis aren’t capping like Tim’s always showing u. That’s still ok cause you got a big tank, but not sure if that’s the type u wanted.

Zoas are great and so are hammers - not torches, but hammers. All my zoas and hammers have thrived in new tank.

She might be fine with torches and some of the others, not all. It is my understanding that her tank had been up and running for a couple years when she got it and it never went dry. I could be wrong, you know, that dementia thing.

Yes that is correct your meds are working this time. It was up and running for about 6 years before I bought it and I kept ever warm and wet while moving and setting up at my house.

Thank god! Now if I could just remember to put my shoes on before I leave for work!

Also, candy canes, Bith Kev and I have - very hardy and eye-popping

Well, that’s the best newbie advice I can give based on my tank and what’s thrived, i leave it to the experts to advise moving forward.
Also, having a variety of styles vs a lot of flat is my preference

That's also what I want not all flat nor all tall but a wide variety. And we can't forget there must be done that flow with the water movement...

I advise before the corals arrive visit Tidal Gardens website. Than gives very detailed information on each specific coral’s care. I’ve used it many times and it is extremely helpful.

Are any of the monti I have the kind that cap?
It would say cap on the name I believe. You can google that specific one to check.

Stylophora - yes
Pipe Organ - not yet
Pocillopora - up to you, I have one but they're invasive
Favia and Duncan - YES
Platygyra - can be difficult for a beginner coral
Galaxea - Sure, but give it room (4" or 5" min)
Litho, Leptastrea, Cyphastrea - yes
Monti - Absolutely!
Sympodium - another invasive I believe
Styloconiella and Lepto - yes

Did that help?

Litho, Styloconiella, Leptastrea, Lepto, Pavona, Psammacora, Cyphastrea ,and the Monti picks are all encrusters and will kill whatever they get close to. They also have different lighting and flow requirements so they're good for different parts of the tank.

Favias must be kept separate because they're encrusters and have 2" sweepers,.

Galaxeas have up to 6" sweepers.

Pocillopora readily propagate in the aquarium and they spread fast and easy and are hard to eradicate if they get out of hand - think Aiptasia style? Only get 1 if you do, not 2.

Pipe Organ can be tricky.

Yeah, they're all Almost WYSIWYG which means multiple available.
