Hot and humid here @Remi . That’s not that far, I’ve never mentioned this but if you want to drive by this afternoon I’ll give you a bunch of birdsnest frags. My oldest son is a mechanical engineer and his company developed and built a couple of large pieces of equipment for a company in France. Once they are shipped and arrive in France he’s pretty sure he’ll be the one sent to France for a month to help them set it up and troubleshoot until it’s up and running problem free. He’s looking forward to eating all that French food we can’t get here like escargot, french fries, french toast, French’s mustard, etc.I am only a few of hundred miles away from you @kevgib67 sorry to miss your meal from the lake yesterday. It is a bit chilly hope in your place it is warmer. I am on your timeline but now I will miss France game at euro 2024 and tour de France.

It is all depend where he will be going. For food, bread, pastry it can be very good. But unfortunately France is quite unsafe, no weapon but still unsafe and a lot of people don't speak english.Hot and humid here @Remi . My Halloween Hermit is fine with my conches.Great advice on the conch. I think they're really cool actually. Do you think my Halloween Hermit would play nice with it? I really hope it's not dinos. My tank is about 3 months old. It seems isolated to the top of the sand bed and disappears with the lights off.
I'm fairly certain I'm dealing with Ostreopsis currently.I believe Halloween hermits are the risky ones with conches.
And if they are disappearing at night, I would be worried you might have ostreopsis dinos or possibly prorocentrum dinos. If that's the case, as ScottB says, welcome to the club no one wants to be in:

A Dinoflagellate Treatment Guide
As the title suggests, this is intended as a short guide on what to do when you suspect dinoflagellates are trying to overtake your system. It is an attempt to boil down the protocols discussed across 11,000 posts in this "Are you Tired" thread...www.reef2reef.com
Lot of people here dealt with them before, though, so you're in good company! And let's hope for diatoms!
MB7, hang a piece of filter floss, and UV are what's working for me. Are you at 0 phosphates? If so, bump those up.Well, I have some homework for in the morning. I kind of said it wrong. They don't necessarily disappear at night, but you cant see them as well under non white lights and when i have only ambient light in the room and no tank lights
I believe you may be correct and theyre probably dinos. I was hoping diatoms because my tank was so new. . Nothing is better than a problem that comes with a solution. I appreciate the information and everyone's willingness to help.
Duck and Decanter was pretty good over in Philly last time I went. That was 15 years ago...Lunch at my favorite lunch place, The Hare & Tortoise: a giant bowl of curry laksa and genmaicha tea.
