Hawkfish are hands down my favorite saltwater fish.

where did you get it from? my old LFS told me a 100$ clown was Qted...

it had brook and nuked the tank.

A small local fish importer in the L.A. area, I've been buying from him for almost 20 years. Lots of great fish with NO issues. Picked up a qt'ed leopard & red coris wrasse. I believe the leopard was the flukes problem child as it passed fairly quickly. The red coris is still making a daily afternoon appearance enjoying the pods that are flourishing since I'm treating the display with prazi, thus no skimmer and a massive GHA outbreak.

My other half was calling me with tales of disaster daily when she would stop by to check on the fish. Literally was loosing one-two fish a day, until I got back home.

I only have a pair of clownfish currently (have had them about a month). My next addition is a yellow watchman goby (and pistol shrimp pal) - being quarantined by Dr. Reef.

X2 love both of mine. And the longnose hawk is a survivor, carpet surfed twice so far.

I'm most partial to flame hawks, but they're all beautiful and so much personality. Wow - the only fish I've had survive carpet surfing were a couple of foot long freshwater plecos (thought they were dead, put back in tank, magically revived).

I’ve had a danio and blood parrot jump, caught them fast though. The parrot was so excited for food that it leapt right out of the tank…and now the lid is never opened any longer than it has to be lol

I’ve had a danio and blood parrot jump, caught them fast though. The parrot was so excited for food that it kept right out of the tank…and now the lid is never opened any longer than it has to be lol

I didn't think they could either! These two were ginormous too, lol. Looked like dinosaurs. I don't remember if lid was accidentally left open or what, but when we got home from school they were both on the floor all dried up. They're tough! I can definitely see a danio and parrotfish jumping, but yeah the pleco incident was weird.

I was lucky with the longnose, 1st time was the tank transfer from the 30g to the 50g second time was during a feeding frenzy in the 120g.

He is a trip to watch, especially when he's gorging on pellets.

Gotta keep an eye on that one apparently, lol! My clownfish get so excited for food, sometimes I worry they're going to hop right out of the tank. Piglets, lol.

Unkown amount of MIA, KIA red legged hermits and turbo snails quite hard to spot them tbh

They are 1 tomini tang, 1 ocellaris clown, 1 Midas blenny, 1 barnacle blenny, 1 Royal Gramma, 1 YWG, 1 coral beauty angel, 2 pajama cardinalfish and 3 yellow tail damsels. If you look closely all the fish are visible except one of the pajamas.

12 fish in my 80g shallow lagoon. Two two tangs have been stressing each other out, so I think the bristletooth is going to be rehomed sooner than later.

I believe it is a gender thing, but I also heard it is a stress response, or they change colors as they mature. I don't know which is correct, but when I received it from LA, I was really irritated and contacted them to tell them they sent me the wrong fish as it was not YELLOW! But they said it was right. I looked it up, and it appears to be the case. Mine has always been white and grey and seems perfectly happy and healthy with his shrimp.

I read somewhere that captive bred watchman gobies are more gray than yellow as well... could be something to do with it I suppose.
