Very good question. I saw some progress with insulation when @x_burt post the stand being welded.

Stand is in place and ready. But the house isn't ready yet. The tank will get placed on the stand where it should be and then boarded around while we finish the house.

Be sure the top of the tank is not open to dust. I taped a plastic sheet covering to mine to seal it off while I did some construction work on my equipment room. Sheet got filthy. Tank stated clean. Saved a lot of work. Did not have to clean out the tank.

Little update:
The tank was on its way to the wrong address! As soon as we found out Schuran were great and fixed it but because it's bank holiday weekend here now and I head out of the country for 2 weeks on Tuesday instead of stressing with delivery now it will arrive when I return. I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

Nice build you have there

very nice looking tank and size. I had to laugh when someone asked the price as i live in Bergen and the price differences in Norway to US are much bigger

When building a tank like this its like walking into a ferrari dealer to buy a car. You just point and say i want that one and dont bother asking the price because its not going to make a difference to you if you are there in the first place. Where are you getting your fish from ? Have you heard about Dream Aquairum in Bergen. I am sure they could order you as many puffers as you wanted. What type puffers and fish are you planning for the tank? Look forward to see more. I had a delema with customs over 17th of May. They wanted to hold a shipment of corals i had coming from the UK until wednesday which would have been a disater so i had to get jetpack to send me the package same day. As i am sure you know not a cheap thing to do in Norway.I think you would agree. 5 k dollars would not get you too far over here lol

I don't count I would say for selection of corals and fish price wise your ahead but in terms of the gadgets there ain't much difference in price. An example. In the local marine store a flame angel costs 2200 kr or in dollars 260.

Thank you for answering. I would guess that you also slow down the rpms?

Porter Cable makes a variable speed router with 5 speed settings. With the 1/2" shank and cutter there is no need to slow down the speed but with large mass cutters it is necessary to reduce speed. The router also features a soft start when powering the tool up.

Thank for the information on the Porter Cable. I wonder if the use any specialized cutter, for instance a up spiral, down spiral, or just a straight carbide bit?

I use a straight two flute bit with pilot bearing from FTM Plastics on the web. Their router bits are designed by the manufacturers for use on acrylic. They also carry special saw blades that work very well. If you have further fabrication questions look at the thread by Floyd R Turbo on Acrylic Fabrication in this forum or PM me.
