1000gal DT build

It’s interesting how some rock has that deep red coloration even after 11 days of being soaked in bleach bath.

Yes planning plumbing and actually going through with it was but far the hardest part of the setup. Lots of learning curves and soar hand bruises.

For the most part it’s done. Thought I still need to add UV and 4 more reactors.

Meanwhile I just finished bleaching dead rock about 600lbs of it. Next step is to dry it then give it another water bath or two until bleach smell is gone.

Will you be running a multi-unit UV or just one gigantic unit?

The rock is looking good!

I have one industrial UV by MRC, I will be using that.

All reactors are made by MRC as well as their Isump. I just need to build a stand for these four reactors before plumbing.

MRC certainly makes some nice looking equipment that works very well. It's got to be a big bonus that they are local for you too!

Bump to follow this Gem!!

Mounting lights is a challenge here. Being 6’2” tall and holding up these 130” rails and screwing them up in tight space is a task

I’m taking my time with this... :)

Ya, that was us at the Camden Aquarium in New Jersey.
Not as big as Ga Aquarium but great place to visit. They have lots of sharks in the main aquarium, huge displays! I can watch for hours.

They also have hippos, I’ve never see hippos like that before. Huge beasts, amazing to watch them swim with freshwater fish. That was one of my highlights for sure!

Ya those are plastic, I need to get some more of those plastic screws. In some places I ran out of them and had to use stainless steel ones.
Good eye!

Great to hear back! Can you please share where you sourced them?
