Hey Reef2reef,

this is going to be my first post altogether in this forum, woo. gotta start somewhere right?

so yea, this is going to be my 2nd aquarium. right now i have a 10G (46L) reef and it's time i upgraded (1 year, im way too impatient haha)

these are the specs of my aquarium:

Main tank: 120cm x 60cm x 60cm (47 inches x 24 inches x 24 inches)
Sump: 100cm x 45cm x 50cm with 4 sections (39 inches x 18 inches x 20 inches)
Skimmer: RD1000 (made by a local brand)
Filtration:
-2L of seachem matrix
-1L of seachem seagel
-2 Jap Matt sheets
Wavemakers: 2 Jebao RW8
Return: Resun King-4
Lighting: an LED fixture consisting of 8 local lights and some additional lights for supplementing

As of now I literally have everything (including live rock and sand), just need to wait for my MT, stand and sump which will come on Monday along with 700L of water.

Here's all the pictures i have right now

Here's everything i have

These are my local LED, they're insanely bright and have amazing coloring costing LESS THAN $20 a piece, can maintain some most SPS corals except for shallow water ones

This is everything I'm using for my supplemental lighting

A BIG WELCOME to R2R, looking forward to seeing this come together. Are you close to the water/Ocean that you can or will do some of your own collecting ?

Cheers, Todd

Heyy Todd,

thanks for the welcome. :)

yes i am in fact near the ocean however i will not be collecting my own water as the close section is also a huge port. The water would be absolutely horrendous and would destroy my aquarium haha.

there are stores that collect water from deeping inside. like i think about 100M of the coast, so I will be getting my water supply from there. Besides, it costs about $0.25 for 5 gallons of water. i honestly can't complain ;)

Wow lucky you. Cost me 11$ a 5gnurtsea water.! Need to come by u!

Is that your pool.? If so nice.! Can't wait too see your corals.! You must have a nice selection of acros.!

Hahaha, I am really lucky. It doesn't get better than reefing in indonesia.

Yea that is my pool, thanks :) can't wait to get this started either. ugh waiting a week for the tank, then a month for the corals is going to be killer. i will be placing acros a month or 2 after cycling as i'll want to establish everything first before trying them, but honestly can't wait because SPS were impossible in my nano (some LPS wouldn't even survive and i'm constantly needing to upgrade filtration and do 40% water changes)

Are you going to be diving and collecting your own livestock?

unfortunately no, i will be purchasing them as i have taken everything into account.

purchasing would give me a much better survival rate, a stress free life, and with the prices here, in the end they would honestly cost a lot less. and ontop of that, i can get a general idea of what they'll look like in my aquarium straight from the store as i wouldnt really see any glow from the ocean :P

like over here:
1 colony of any acro costs me rp45,000. that's about $3.75 per colony. and by colony i mean the size as a adult's hand.
1 monti cap colony, about the size of a adult's hand and about 10 cm tall (4 inches tall) would also cost me 45,000 which is $3.75 again

1 dive would cost me 5,000,000, about $420 and i'll be able to take about let's say 10 corals? that's $42 per coral where as $420 i should be able to fill up my full aquarium :)

hahaha, so there's my explanation :)

in conclusion, i wouldnt be diving for my corals

Great reasoning!!! So i will paypal you $100 and you can send me 10 colonies and keep the change... :)
Take pictures of the LFS, i am very interested in how things are in indo. Do you have a good surf break by your house?

hahhahaha, it is pretty awesome. the best deal i think i got was a large (like a 4 inch diameter) neon orange short tentacle plate coral for.... drum roll please $3 (without bargaining yet. after bargaining i got it for $2.5 :) i was so proud to get that deal

Welcome aboard! Can't even buy fish food for $3.75. I'd like a man cave in Indo.

hahha, fish food cost more than the fish and coral itself here :P my aquarium is going in the living room as keeping it there push me to keep the aquarium clean and keep up with maintenance :)
