Pretty much a week after I got corals put in GHA started taking over again. Parms are good so it's sad. Tried toothbrush and pulling but now I'm gonna try peroxide dosing and scrubbing. It's just ridiculous. 2 days in and will post updates.

Have you looked into Vibrant Aquarium Cleaner? I'm hearing good stuff about it. Never tried it myself, so I couldn't vouch for it, but it might be worth a shot.

After i turned the lights back on, the GHA came back in force! Was everywhere again! Ridiculous!!

So I went to plan Y. Lights out for 3 days and dosed 20 ml of hydrogen peroxide. (nothing was harmed in the tank except my trochus snail populate took a big hit). My two cleaner shrimps didnt get phased Odd. Well after 3 days of dosing lights off, it did make a small dent on the GHA. I say around 20% of the GHA fell off the rocks. Turned lights on and kept dosing hydrogen peroxide but the GHA didnt seem to fade.

So I went to plan Z. I bought some vibrant aquarium cleaner. Read several people having luck with GHA with that stuff. Dosed 3 times in the last two weeks. Load and behold!



I dont know what algae or chemical they have in that bottle but the GHA started to die off. After approx 2 wks, most of the GHA was off the rocks. I did a water change, skimmed off the rest of the GHA. I just have couple strands here and there but most of the GHA is gone from rocks. Oddly enough, some of the GHA or shorter algae on other hard surfaces like glass and some PVC did not die off. Had to scrap that stuff off. Chaeto in sump also did not die. So it is some odd stuff.

Its been two months and after just dosing vibrant for 2 wks. The GHA hasnt returned and chaeto is nicely tumbling in sump. That stuff is pretty darn good. Corals are looking good. Fish are looking healthy. Dont know whats in that stuff, but its did magic.
