I got this tank today for free from a family member it was in one of my distant family members garages and they passed away recently and I am the only one into fish tanks so yeah I get a free size upgrade.
I will be making this a mixed reef eventually this thread will be slow progress at first so bear with me.

I filled it up about 2 hours ago and so far so good. It is pretty old so I may reseal it anyways I just haven't ever done it before.

Nice. I just resealed a 75 that had less than 1/16 of an inch of cilicone in some places. It didn't leak (like yours as well). I just scraped the cilicone I side the tank cleaned the glass with alcohol then vinegar then taped off my lines and re ciliconed. There are some great videos on youtube. This is the one that helped me the most. HOW TO: Reseal an aquarium - aquarium repair: http://youtu.be/XKactsdPpO8

As far as lighting I am very clueless when it comes to that I would like to hang a fixture or fixtures I like the open top look or at least a screen top I do not want a giant canopy. I was thinking about a metal halide for the center an two sets of dual t5 ho fixtures on the sides so I can have sps in the middle and my lps and softies around the sides

So upon further inspection I will be resealing this tank just to be safe also the top frame/trim is beat to hell so I would like to replace it I just cant find any anywhere, it does not appear to be one piece so it may just be for show I don't know if it would be ok frameless.

Remove old rim measure [leave small amount of space for silicone to seal it on] .. just has to be big enough lip to even the force of water out around the tank.

Say maybe 1" x 2" rim. Would be at your own risk obviously. But I'm sure would work.

I've been thinking about this for months. Lol. Because my center brace blocks light. Wanted clear. Gotta break down my DT to do it. So might get done when I buy a house in the spring.
