Hello all, I finally broke down and got a bigger tank. Some of you my know I was seriously out of room in my 57 gallon.

I've had some help along the way and I seriously appreciate it. Rizz, I couldn't have done it without ya. Plumbing is not my cup of tea and all the advise is invaluable. Kevin Anderson, Bro I appreciate the new canopy you engineered. Great work! I've definitely ran into an unforeseen obstacle though.
The glass had some serious scratches in it. Nothing that would catch your fingernail but they needed to be removed. I watched countless videos on how to remove scratches. I wet sanded starting with 800 grit moving all the way up to 2000 grit using a high speed drill. I also buffed it several times with Cerium Oxide. Needless to say the original scratches are still there on top of all the new scratches from wet sanding. Anyone out there have any suggestions on how to get these scratches out? Like I said, they don't catch your fingernail but they're everywhere.
I'll try to start posting pics tomorrow.

The beginning.

Welcome to the 120gal club!! Sorry, no advice on scratches....I hate scratches, I hope you can get them out. If not just get crazy super bright outstanding corals, no one will notice the scratches then :biggrin1:

LOL, That's the second time someone has told me that.

Guess I don't understand that mindset. If the scratches were too much for you to deal with why buy the tank?

Just curious.

The tank wasn't clean when I bought it. Guess it's my bad for not inspecting it closer before I bought it.
Live and learn.

Thank you going out to bknapp for letting me use his high speed buffer. I'm actually seeing positive results now so I'm optimistic that I can get this glass virtually scratch free. It's not an easy process but worth the effort imo.

If you need less aggressive pads for the buffer let me know. That wool pad is a little more aggressive than the foam pads I have.

Hey Brandon, can you bring those foam pads to the meeting today? I'll see if they will work better before I buy one.
