120 gallon set up

everything has been going good, I had an alkalinity issue that was noticed by having the alkatronic, it would have been a spike if I was testing once a week. for some reason growth slowed and alkalinity was creeping up daily, luckily daily testing every 6hours caught the issue before it became one and things are back to normal, and I've been slowly increasing alkalinity dosing back up to what it was.

new frags are doing great too.

one more month left for the growout contest, im not sure how it's going to pan out, I was at a disadvantage at the beginning with a coral that was close to dead from shipping so the first 3 months was the coral just staying alive, but the last 3 months I have been seeing good growth. I think in another year this will be a great coral.

I set up a small 120mm fan to bring in outside air during lights out. it comes on a couple of hours before the lights go out and goes off a few hours before they come back on, it's only been one night, I can see the difference on the graph, unfortunately it makes my a/c and dehumidifier in the room run more so I will see if I'm going to keep it or not but it's interesting to see the graph.

back in the waterchange mode, 20g a week, completely away from moonshiners dailies, unless I do an icp I may still do corrections but I havent done a test in over a month or two. I've started daily dosing "KZ spurenelemente komplex" on a dosing head for the past month I feel like Im seeing good results in coral growth overall now that the tank is at this current age and everything has been getting pretty consistent, but I believe the waterchanges have been really helping, so I will continue to do those. I have been sticking to the kalkwasser although it is the biggest headache for me, so I need to figure out a better system I honestly don't like mixing it and I don't know if the juice is worth the squeeze for me, I will see what happens with that, right now I'm dosing 3500ml fully saturated over a 12hr period during lights out.

I've been trading frags to my lfs for salt discounts so that has been great also, im currently sitting on a big pile of salt like Tony Montana! I've set up and auto feeder as well for the fish they seem to like it.

I will share a few more pictures when the tank glass is cleaner, here's a few at different times.

I remember this coral arrived with a really bad start. That growth is very impressive for the circumstance is dealt with.

How’s your Walt Disney?
