This is my first build thread so here we go.

first thing was I had to do is break down my old 150 agressive tank which meant rehoming large predatory fish. luckily my LFS took them for store credit Aquatic Creations in Amherst NH rocks. then I had to break down my entire system which was a total of 3 tanks and a 150 gallon stock tank that was my sump. everything was moved and the stock tank is housing my live rock and inverts till the new tank is ready to set up.

the new tank will have the following

Tank: Reef Ready 120 with corner overflows i will use the return line as a safety overflow
lighting: still figuring that one out.
Heat: i have 4 new titanium heaters 400 watts each i won't need all of them just in case
pump: Jeabo 1200
pump #2: jeabo 800 for reactors and such
controller: Neptune Apex with all of the bells and whistles :-)
water movement: pair a neptune WAV pumps.
dosing: will be Two Part with a Neptune Dos once the tank has corals
stand: 2x4 in wall diy stand
Canopy: non as it is inwall

i will be building and setting up a QT and Breeding system at the same time as the main build. this will let me quarantine my new fish and also raise some of my clown fish fry i have from a pair in my nano reef.

the first picture is the old tank and the second is my new tank waiting to be installed :-)

i am going to get wood for the stand tomorrow and will be building it this week i hope to have water in the new tank within 2 weeks.

Back of the wall prepped. Took off old plasterboard and marked the studs to be cut. Stand is going to be 40 inches tall and 48x48 and will hold the 120 and a 40 breeder refugeium

Exciting!

I just did something similar. Been waiting years too....I'm at the point of cycling but taking my time. It's been a 3 month process building and setting it all up. Take your time and do it right !

Following,
I love tanks that are visible from both sides.
