120G Rimless shallow peninsula tank

I have a pH probe connected to the GHL Profilux controller.
It showed 8.66 last week.
After some deliberation, we (the probe and I) decided to go and do a calibration.

After messing with the program and several hours later... pH back to 7.95-8.10.

I liked 8.66... there were less algae on the glass :oops::oops::oops:

Wow everything is looking great! Especially the tile star. You doing anything to keep that star happy?

For the moment not. It is the only starfish in the tank, but I am afraid the urchin is a lot more effective and takes away lots of food from the star.
It is only a couple of days since she is in the tank so I keep a close eye on her.
The tank runs pretty clean, without sandbed. I might need to look for some additional food in the future, but I am not sure what her diet would be.

That's the problem my friend is having. he's not sure what to feed his, it's not getting what it needs. Such a cool star, hopefully you find something for it to munch on.

I had a sand sifting starfish before (in one of the previous tanks) that was also starving.
This till I noticed that my snails were disappearing and I found the starfish hunting them.
He would crawl over them, take the complete snail in his mouth, stay put like that for an hour and then spit our the shell.

If I loose my hermits and snails now, I know where to find the culprit.

Can I borrow it for few weeks ? My snail are multiplying fast, I always give as a gifts for other reefers.
I'll return it for you with a bunch of snails so it doesn't starve :D

Life is good if you have the support of your neighbour.

Mystic monti. Some of the better pictures. I noticed that each polyp has 5 white tips. Nice detail

This milli and some other wild, but nice coloured acro, were put on the same frag plug when I got them. It was my last plug at that moment and they were just so so frags in the lfs.
They turned out better then expected and it is time I separate them so they can do their thing in peace.

Thank you for the account keeping :p

Today's parameters:

ALK 7.5 dKH
Ca 400 ppm
Mg 1290 ppm
Salinity 1.026
pH 8.0
NO3 2.0 ppm
PO4 0.1 ppm

I stopped the Rowaphos reactor 2 months ago to get more PO4 to battle the cyano. PO4 came to 0.1 without any issue to the corals so far. Will keep an eye on it but for now I'll keep it like that.
Heavier feeding made NO3 creep up to 2ppm which is good.

Hi Janci, nice reef!
Would you care to explain the relation between cyano/po4?
This is the first time i read something like it. Thanks
