120g Standard Mixed Reef

One other thing that I meant to mention with that video, if you have the volume up around the :20 mark you can hear the distinct “plop” of the moyer’s breaking the surface [emoji23] He does this at least daily, usually at feeding time.

Thank goodness for screen tops, or he would have been on the floor many, many times by now lol

Looking great Nicole!

Hey ngoodermuth. First, notice you help a lot of people out! great work! 2) I just took a quick look at your thread here and notice that you have a Regal Angel, does he bother your corals at all? Sorry if you commented on that somewhere in here but didn't have time to read all though it. My daughter has been asking for an angel but thought Not reef safe. Can you enlighten me?

All angels with the exception of the genicanthus angels, are not considered truly "reef-safe". Genicanthus, being primarily planktivores, are definitely the safest choice.

My regal has not shown any interest in any corals yet, but he most definitely took an interest in my large derasa clam. That has since been relocated. My potter's angel took interest in fleshy LPS... my trachy and acans had to be moved early on. Euphyllia seem pretty safe, and so far *knocks on wood* so are the SPS.

I'm more of a fish person though, so as long as they don't bother my SPS- I'm ok with not having a ton of LPS corals in order to keep my angels :)

Not much to report... cruising through with just kalk or 2-part, regular water changes, and feeding the fish.

Been lazy about cleaning the back glass and my H likes it "dirty", so he won't clean it when he does maintenance lol

But, here we are December 17'

I try not to go to the end of these year long build threads that are bumped up. Sometimes I do

It usually means that they have been taken down, crashed, sold, whatever.

This one is beautiful. Not skipping to the end.

Thank you- I'm glad you are enjoying it ;) It's had it's ups and downs- but I'm pretty proud of how far it's come over two years... even with the set-backs.

Thank you. Hmmm. Not quite sure I will try one. Your tank is beautiful btw

Haha... it’s a risky move. I feel like regal angels are a bit “less” risky than most other large angels, but the risk is still there.

There are some really cool genicanthus though, I love the masked swallowtail personally... I’ve been thinking about trying one for a while...but I’m afraid my tank is a bit small for another big angel.

Thank you!

New addition! Courtesy of @Humblefish ;)

I decided I was done killing these guys in QT (I’ve tried three separate times now, and had yet to get one into my tank) so I went to the fish-whisperer himself.

Of course, I can’t stress enough the attention to detail and concern for the fish’s health... amazing. The most satisfying fish purchase I’ve ever made.

Seriously, where else do you order a “difficult” fish and get this kind of a reassurance? [emoji23]

The regal angel was giving him a hard time for a bit, but seems to be settling now and he’s getting a little more brave and checking out the tank. I’m so pleased with him.

Wow, beautiful fish.
Does he actually eat out of your hand?

I haven’t tried it yet, my regal was being a little bit of a jerk when I let him go, so he was a little stressed. But, by the end of the day he picked a couple pieces of mysis from the water column. I don’t doubt he will though, if you put a finger up to the glass he swims right for it lol

I’m going to try hand feeding him today ;)
