Been a while but still moving along. Found a stand, got my skimmer and return pump, built the sump
Have the plumbing parts and wavemakers in the basement ready to go. Have to let the sump dry then I hopefully can get moving

Need opinions on the new rock I got. Bought about 80 lbs from someone breaking down their tank for a crazy low price. Problem was I wasn't ready for the rock so I took the pieces with coral and put them in the existing tank. The rest has been in a Rubbermaid bin on the deck for at least a month. Planning on bleaching it well to make sure. My question is with new live sand and the existing live rock if I moved the old tank into the new do you think I will have issues?

Just to make sure there is nothing alive on it. It's been sitting out for a while. Not worried about marine pests still being alive, just trying to kill off and remove all organic material. Basically want to get it back to dry rock.

So I just flow tested the sump with the new jaebo return pump. All I can say is wow. Lol cranked up all the way there was about an inch of water over the last divider. Nice waterfall effect

Tank is on the stand an just got back from hd with assorted plumbing parts. Let the fun begin. Question though, what do you guys use to connect a flex piece to the pump with? It came with a barb adaptor but seems like it would blow off. Hose clamps are probably not a great idea so just looking for suggestions

Ok so the plumbing is done. Well the drain, return, t'd piece of pipe for additions later and the valve to drain for water changes. Wish I had been motivated over the weekend I would be sitting watching it fill. Guess that will have to wait.

Starting to think about the sand bed. Opinions in size? Not going pink or black, just regular ocean sand. Don't have plans for burrowers now but would like to keep options open. Thinking about going the Southdown option with some sand from the old tank to kick it off

Well was planning on filling the tank today and noticed that the front corners of the tank are off the stand by about 1/8 inch. Now wondering if the weight of the water will bring it into contact or not. I can push it down just seems like the stand is bowed.
