I discovered another purplish spot

It’s on the opposite side of the tank than the original spot. The blue circle is the OG spot. The red is the one I noticed today while doing a water change. The nature of it has me leaning more towards coralline than something more sinister

The new power head moved some sand around and exposed a previously buried piece of rock. It’s amazing how much the rock has darkened with, what I assume is algae, since I turned the lights on.

I don't know what else it could be. It doesn't have the consistency of cyano. It appears to be growing like coralline. I'm just keeping my eyes on it to see what it does.

I found another Sicce XStream powerhead for a really good price.

I have it slaved and counter-synced to the first powerhead. When one ramps up, the other ramps down. And vice versa.

We now have a total of 2 powerheads and two wave makers.

I still haven’t gotten around to re-routing the power strip wire.

Appreciate it. I'm hoping the brown stuff covering the rocks is indeed diatoms. Not sure what else they could be.

I would agree with the diatoms. It seems every tank has a terrible outbreak of this stuff, and then it just fades away over a few weeks.

Its strange though. I had a diatom outbreak a few weeks ago, which seemed to be going away. Over the past couple of days, it appears diatoms have been in overdrive. I'm hoping this means they'll be dying off soon.

I've been thinking about adding and arch or swim-through to the hardscape. I've come up with three different ways I could do it. Though, I have to keep in mind that this will be have to be mostly constructed in the tank because the top bracing limits the size of the rock I can put into the tank. Also because of the top bracing I have to be aware that I may need to eventually remove pieces of the hardscape.
