I am open to any sort of plug and play options for upgrading my 14 gallon coralife biocube to have leds. I was very close to purchasing steves leds tonight but I found a thread about them and it was full of negativity and really scared me away. My tank is towards the end of its cycle (it's been 3 weeks and a few days), I'm having the water tested tomorrow and maybe even picking up a clean up crew (fingered crossed).
I would appreciate your thought on retrofit leds that I can replace the incandescents with. BTW I need to keep the hood on because I have cats. Thankyou

2 truelumen pro fussion leds and 2 deep water blue less add current usa pro controller for automatic/programable sunrise sunset storm cloud etc.

yes they are all you have to do is take out the bulbs leave everything intacked and the legs mount where the bulbs had been lets you use the stock fans and moonlight led if ya want
takes all of 34 min to install connect all four with the 2 y splitters to the controller and your done.
the y slitters are actually 3 to 1 so you can add more if you want later on

i am running 3 fussion and 3 deep water on a bio cube 29

video also on marine depot site
i am saying 2 fusion and 2 deep water blue if you want ups sps and clams
just connect the 2 fusion with y to controller A and deep blue with y to B
and thats it
i bought the strips individually not as the nano kit wanted more than 2 strips cheaper

Wow, beautiful. But I think I only have 2 available spaces for the led strips in the 14

I also have the TrueLumen LEDs mounted into the hood of my BC29. I have 3 fusion, 2 blue, and then also have a blue stunner strip and 2 of the built in Coralife blue strips.

you have 2 bulbs in the 14 right?
2 strips will fit in the area where each Old bulbs where located
when you mount them stagger the legs
I------I -fussion
I------I-atinic deep water blue
I------I-fussion
I------I- actinic deep water blue
you can start out with just 2 but you can add more as you want
I'm just saying go for gold and then you will have what ya need instead of wanting

So the holes from the leds that come with the stock hood can hold a new 12" strip as well? Is that what ur trying to get me to understand?

For mine I went and got a custom cut piece of acrylic from a local glass company to fit over the holes in the hood....I screwed the acrylic into the hood and then mounted the LEDs onto the acrylic.

no
the t5bulbs there are 2 in the bio cube 14 correct ? i don't know
if so , once you take the T5 bulbs out and the metal holder (put the screw back)
2 led strips will fit in its place. if you stagger the legs you can then fit 4 strips and still keep the moonlight led that came with the biocube

cool take the t5s out and stick the new strips where the t5s where.
only thing you have to do is take the older that holds the rubber band and the lights off it is 1 screw
that way if you ever want to go back you can
no cutting no nothing just sticking;)

In the official YouTube video for installing them in my type of BC, they put 2 in. I don't want to get into cutting or getting extra mounting brackets. If it was up to me I'd get rid of the cats and have no hood lol. So if I were to run just 2 lights, should I 1 of the pro fussion and 1 dee0 water blue or 2 white/actinic blue combos?

You are an amazing person. Hahaha hahaha. That sums everything up wow. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd tip you if I could lol maybe one day when I'm more comfortable with the tank and electrical work I'll add more strips but my then I plan on having a much larger tank. Thanks again. Also, do you think I should pick up a dimmer while I'm at it so the tank and the 2 corals that came on the live rock aren't hit with that strong of a light without becoming accustomed to it?
