I'd tip you if I could lol maybe one day when I'm more comfortable with the tank and electrical work I'll add more strips but my then I plan on having a much larger tank. Thanks again. Also, do you think I should pick up a dimmer while I'm at it so the tank and the 2 corals that came on the live rock aren't hit with that strong of a light without becoming accustomed to it?

if you get the controller it has everything you need to acclimate etc it controls the intensity and cooler so you can dim
also GET 2 Y controller cables our it won't work with controller
read up on the current usa pro controller and you can see what it does
another hint
if you don't want to take the hood off,
cover the tank when open with a piece of plywood or cardboard, cover with a towel and take your time unscrewing the clear cover and put the screws in something so you don't drop them
when you take the holder for the T5 bulbs off its 1 screw put the screw back

Can you be more specific about the 2 Y controller cables please. And I will takemail the hood off for installation but I will need to cover it so my cat doesn't end up swimming.
Also, on that list of everything you said "current usa ramp timer pro" and the last one u said "current usa pro controller." Same thing?

yes the y cable you will need 2 of them they are 3 way to 1

each male connects to the strip you will need 1 splitter for the A channel (fussion white strip) 1 splitter for the B channel (Blue strip )
you will have 2 extra plugs on each for future but you need them to power them up from controller

There u mentioned a white light strip but on the prior list you said the white/actinic blue combo (along with the actinic blue). Should I get theverything white only or combo? And ya I'm getting everything separate. But ok, the y cable is understood now. Thank you

I have a biocube 29 and went with Nano Box retrofit. Small starter company, but the lights come with a bluefish mini controller and if you ship the hood to Dave he will actually do the retrofit for you.

I have the rapid led kit installed on my bc 14 with a storm controller. Decent growth but i am in the process of upgrading to the AI prime for a better full spectrum. I will say rapid has been great to deal with.

I would wait on the new tanks/lids to come out this summer. All LED and will fit the older tanks.

Just wondering what lights you ended up going with and how well they worked

I ended up going with the truelumen. We 12 inch strips, one Actinic blue and one diamond while. I have no bad things to say about them but they're not strong enough for any hard corals. I had a frag of red montipora on the very top of the tank and it slowly was losing color so I gave it to a store for a $5 credit. Now I have softies, zoanthids, different mushrooms, a fungai plate, and a pink cauliflower (non-photosynthetic. If i didnt have cats I would remove the lid and get a very very good light like a Kessel. I'd spend the $300. But that's just me. I'm 18, so after community college I plan on going to a university and hopefully the small biocube will be coming with me. That's the only reason I got the 14 instead of the 29. Hope this helps.
