I would pull that back Joist out and Replace it with a new one or double it up and slighty notch it as needed for plumbing Using SPA FLEX Will allow you a steady Bend and less cut out of the Joist. Would also run a 2x4 under those short 2x support joist running front and back and jack studs under them . 1x or ply would suffice for this..

How big of an issue is the gaps in some of their vertical supports? I can get an envelope in between the gap in the top of the 2x4 supporting the 2x6 horizontal top frame

Well today I decided to replace the short 2x4 vertical supports. What I truly found was just awful. This guys poor workmanship just hit another level. Side 2x6 was literally split, used nails in a number of random spots, some nails didn’t even pierce the appropriate boards, screws were 1 inch long that he used. Most were not properly installed. Some had broken out of poorly made pocket holes. Sick to my stomach, should of never gone back to this guy. Some of the 2x4 verts were just jammed in there and not fastened at all.

Anyhow I’m going to make a new frame starting from scratch and utilize the old skin. If you guys are ever sourcing a stand to be made in the LA area, stay far away from this guy for sure..
