Got the cabinet done and installed. Funny thing was once we got it up there, we realized that the doors would have to slide because of the light hangers. So I had to devise a way to make that work. So I used drawer slides and framed up the back of the door with some trim to match the depth of the slides. Worked out pretty dang well.

You wouldn't get very good airflow out of it, the entire space inside the cabinet would be too large to pressurize and get any type of airflow from the vent. It would be best to run a duct, can you tell what size duct is attached to that register from underneath? Possibly a 6" round duct?

It is a 6” round. Question for you. If I decrease to a 4” for the run, will that cause problems? The run is only about 2’

It will have an effect on it, I'd recommend using a rectangular duct to keep the profile down. A 6" round duct has about 28 square inches of area that the air can travel through, even a short section of 4" duct will cut down on the volume of air. Use a rectangular duct that's close to 28 square inches, you might be able to find something that is 4"x8". If you can't find anything look up a local sheet metal shop and they could custom make a duct if you give them the dimensions. One small piece probably won't be too expensive

Awesome, thanks!

I will probably just go with a 6”
