Wait I have an idea. BRS did something with their clown harem where they fed the tank the massive feeding load for a month beforehand they added the fish so the tank was ready. Maybe if you feed the amount you'd feed the tangs, the tank will be somewhat ready fro them at the same time.

No, the food you'd feed; Nori (Or whatever algae you feed), pellets, flakes, mysis etc.

Look at my avatar. Tank being used is a 240g, 8x2x2. the Vlamingii makes a wake in the tank when it gets going, but they all get along, no terrors or fighting. Don't put 2 of the same genus in the tank, you'll be fine.
