Hi everyone! Here is my attempt at a simple 2.5 G Pico reef as my first step back into the hobby after a long absence. Took down a previous 30 G as I wasn’t liking how I had it set up and the tank was very old. Going to be updating as I go along. Stay tuned for some coral and fish updates in the future!

Current Livestock-
Yellow Watchman Goby

Great Pico!

With space already at a premium. Remove that intank filter and use this guy. I use it on small 2.5-5g tanks and it works wonderfully.

You would gain back a lot of in tank space by using it.

Here’s a better pic of my watchman goby in the 2.5 G. He’s finally getting used to his surroundings after hiding in a burrow most of the past two weeks I’ve had him.

Get him a pistol shrimp [emoji177]I love watching my pair. Lol
The tank is pretty small though and I have hermits in the tank as well. Would the pistol shrimp harm the crabs at all?

Mmm it might! Maybe is not such good idea if you have little animals smaller than the shrimp. Ugh bummer lol, but it’s okay; I am sure your goby will be okay without one. I attached a picture of mine. His name is Cheese lol

The blues on the little clamp light I bought look really intense! The dots on my watchman goby look metallic under blue lighting

Coral update! Finally got to stock the tank with some coral! This is my first time ever keeping coral so I’m excited to see how they grow. The clamp light I purchased seems more than capable of keeping them alive. Xenia is coming back up after closing for a couple days. Even got palys of some sort on the frag of my Kenya Tree, hoping they open up fully soon

I’m only putting softies in my tank as they’re easy to care for and most grow fast.
That's the route I took. All softies minus a birdsnest, blasto, acan, and a war coral. They are fairly easy. I'm considering setting up another tank. A 5g evo with RFA only.

Looks good but i wouldnt have put that big nano power head in.

Top fin makes a internal filter thats about as big as the internal you have in there. And it has a spray bar that will do that job of the power head.

So less equipment

Tank update. Say hello to my new inhabitant. I had to return my watchman goby to the store as he got way too aggressive and territorial, he even ate one of my smaller crabs after it molted.
