So am picking up my reefer 350 at the end of the month and wanted to add a yellow and tomani Tang. If done both small and at same time is it ok, or will they fight to much?

Really just depends on the fish. Hard to tell if they will fight. I had a yellow tang and it was super aggressive to my other tangs so I got rid of it. Best way is like you said to add them the same time

Will it be a problem to pick them up tonight and house them in my current 30 for the month. My current 30 is my new quarantine tank. I never had one before. So my current reef tank is now my qt for new tank arriving in about 3 1/2 weeks. Lol

Ive kept multiple tangs in a 25 gal for a few weeks till I could get a proper QT tank when I had ich. The fish were very stressed out and 1 ended up dying. I also had full grown tangs and 4 in the same tank. Maybe see what others have to say

I would opt for a tomini and maybe a kole. Theyll be better in that size tank :) but for what it's worth I have a yellow and a tomini together and they get along just fine :)

Not a fan of the Yellow after my experience. They tend to turn into jerks at around the 4-5 inch range and if there isn't another decent sized fish to keep it in check they will try to claim the tank for themselves. Mine tried to claim my entire 90 gallon after about a month in the tank and did some real damage to my Coral Beauty in the process.

It is a gamble, for sure. I would pick one.

QTing together is possible, and much better than not QTing at all, especially with tangs involved. Keep some egg crate handy, so you can divide the tank if needed.

I would be happy with the Toomi in a 75, leave the yellow for alone, they can be pissers.

I have a yellow who is an angel, only about 4" though. Had him with a Two spot bristletooth for a while til the bristletooth died because I didn't qt.. Now I have learned, QT them. a Yellow and Kole can be kept together, especially small. When they get bigger, it may change one day. you may have to pull one. Or, you may be able to manage some of the aggression with extra feeding of nori.

After all the advice I was thinking of switching the yellow out for something else. Have seen both sides of the fence on a copper and butterfly. Do cbb's get to big?

I put one PBT in a 75 “temporarily” and it was awful. I am not sure I would attempt even one small “breed” Tang in a 75, but if you do, I would certainly only do 1

Copper banded butterflies are a very specialty feeding fish success rate is low, enless it is an establish tank with a good food source and you feed the fish properly. A 75 is a small tank I would be looking at maybe anthias

Same i have a yellow and a kole in my 75, i am however changing my scape up a little to give them more room and a few more purpose built hiding places

So I think I have concluded doing a tomani and either a yellow eyed or blue eyed kole. My lfs has all 3
I wouldn’t limit my options to what is currently available. good LFS’s will order stuff, but with that said, if you like what is in stock, go for it. Enjoy the new fish, and keep us updated!

Probably a dumb question, but if you haven't bought your tank yet, why not get one a touch bigger so you're not on the borderline? If you're a seasoned fish keeper, plz disregard. If this is your first saltwater tank though, adding tangs as some of your first additions is def swimming in the deep end of the pool.

For sure. They have more. Heh. But there just doesn't seem to be many options for my size tank in the Tang world. Especially 2. Lol
