2 year old Vortech MP60 with defective dry side

I've been thinking about getting an mp60 too. But hearing stories like this makes me think twice. What are the comparable options performance wise to these?

Hard to say. The vortech has an unique design. Maybe that’s important to you, maybe it’s not. I like them because of the broad flow. Not easy to find elsewhere. I also like the level of controllability I get with the vortech either through reeflink or apex WXM. Also not easy to find elsewhere. I used Tunze for a long time before vortech and they are borderline bulletproof. Maybe the control capability is better now.

I’ve had 15 vortech pumps across my systems. Perhaps I’ve just been fortunate, but none of the drysides on mine have required rebuilding or replacement, and a number are 2013 vintage. I did buy a used MP10 one time that arrived with a seized dryside, but the prior owner apparently had failed to appreciate the notion of it being a DRY side. I returned it. I did manage to cleverly fill one driver with water - don't do that. But that was entirely user error. Wetsides do require periodic replacement. I change mine out about every 4 years. Also follow the instructions in hanging the drysides; they don’t take kindly to hitting the floor.
