Ran into some trouble with the skimmer fitting into the sump. The skimmer section is 1/4" too narrow. The skimmer will fit but it presses on the wall between the skimmer and return section.

that's a bummer, does the skimmer have a base plate that is hitting? if so can you take a sander to it and take a 1/16 off of each side?

I've thought about that but I'm hesitant to sand down a brand new skimmer. I'm hopeful that I can get this sold and buy a new BK

Well, honestly, there aren't many in Austin that run BKs, so I'm generally interested but now that this skimmer doesn't fit, well, might as well upgrade to the best.

Can't go wrong with a BK. I'm getting the new mini 160 for my reef savvy. This will be my 3rd BK. They are great skimmers. Vertex makes a nice a very neck cleaner for it too.

Got the stand and canopy delivered today.

I can't say enough about Chris Benner at Benner Woodworking. He worked with me over the past few months and I couldn't be happier. His attention to detail is amazing and besides being a great carpenter, he is also quite the engineer. I had a pair of actuators from a former build and wanted to incorporate them for this build. He worked with Progressive Automation and 80/20 to lay out a great system and I can't wait to get the lights hung in this beautiful canopy.

And finally, the tank, built by the one and only Felix Bordon at Reef Savvy. Armored seams, starfire glass, ghost overflow, oh MY.

Tank is a dream, dimesions are amazing, the quality of the seams and the fit over the entire system is fantastic.

Sump is quite impressive as well. Who doesn't need low iron starphire glass on the sump? I feel bad getting it wet, well, almost.

Well worth the wait in my opinion. If I ever move from this tank, I'll be ordering from Felix again.

On to the pics.

We didn't take any during the move. Basically we flipped the tank on its back, up a few stairs and onto a dolley.

Stand was a little more complicated so we picked it up and carried it through the double doors and into the house

Lift tank and place it on the stand. Viola.

Canopy is light so my wife and I slide it on to snap a few pics
