20g Long Prop System

Not much. I finished the build of the stand but still beed to put hinges and stain on it. I have recently bought soem parts, bulkhead, returns, pump/s, and eggcrate. I am going to Bryans place on the 20th to get the tanb drilled and get some frags. But unfortunately i am running low on funds for the 265$ worht of lighting so i will have to wait a while and get back up to speed with my insurance. By the end of January i will have enough for the light and be able to pay my bills.

Update:
Hood done. Stand tommorrow, tonight i am going to the wholesaler with my boss to get hand pick fish & corals....

Update:
Recieved my IC 660 Ballast from Jeremy(Coralnutz) today and will be receiving my package from diyreef.com

4 T5 endcaps
Bulbs
2 aquablue (12k)
1 Blue Plus
1 GE 6500k
and 4 reflectors

Hey Jesse you said you were going to do a 20g too, and you said earlier that you were going to light it with the 2 x24watt ice cap retro. If you go to www.diyreefs.com they have the tek retro there for half the price and you can upgrade the reflectors for only 8$. Just seeing if you want to say a little $

Thanks for the heads up Steve. Right now my 20gal is being used for QT. Going thru an ick outbreak. I have 4 more weeks then I can convert it to a frag tank.

Just PVC into the bulkhead spraypainted plack to match the background....

I have a green bullseye mandarin, candy hog wrasse, 6-line wrasse, a 3/4" tomatoe clown, a 4" hippo tang and a 2" purple tang. I just bought the purple tang because it was sick and I felt bad for it. It has lateral line and head erosion disease. I looked up how to cure it and then went and bought him.

I cant tell if the treatment is working yet. He's all covered in ick. Everything will be much clearer in a few days. I just finished getting the hyposalinity down to 1.009 yesterday. In a few days all ick will be dead or dying so i can concentrate on the hlle(head and lateral line erosion) disease. Enough about my fish woes. Lets talk frag tank.

Where are you going to place the returns from the sump? Are you just going to have them come over the top and then into the tank?

Its a Rio 1700 pump about 3 feet of head loss. So i think i will have some nice flow. I might have to add a powerhead later on though. And yes it will come over the top of the tank...

Are you going to have 2 returns or just one? It might be better to tee it off and have one return on each side. You could have a 1.25" supply and 3/4" returns.

I was thinking about teeing it off but i am using clear plastic tubing so i think that would be hard to tee it off into pvc...any suggestions?

You could use a barbed x male adapter. Then just go right to the tee.

So it would be kind of like a thread for the plastic tubing and then run into the tee. Then i am thinking , off the top of my head, put 1 male adapter like you said on each part of the tee and run more plastic tubing right to the u-tube return heads.... will it work??

Yes that would work. They make barbed tee's also.
