240 gallon build

Nate, my buddy Arthur was the guy who built your stand and canopy. He sent me some pics of it today because I was thinking of having him build me one. After my jaw dropped after seeing the before and after pics, I said "hey, I've seen that tank and garage in the forum before!"

Hey Jordan, small world! Arthur is awesome, as you obviously know, and has been great helping bring this thing together. Here is a pic for everyone else of what he's done so far with the stand skin and canopy. I would say you should definitely have him help you out with one!

Looking good! Are you painting it or staining it?
Hopefully painting this week or early next!

Forget painting or staining it when is it going to be a glass box with water in it
Should be getting my overflow this week, drilling this weekend, and harassing enough people to move it next week, plumbing that weekend, then hopefully box of water! Having said that...we all know how smooth plans like that usually go, haha!

That is really nice. Takes up more room in the garage than my GTI does! Hahaha

Can't wait for you to get that bad boy wet. Hopefully I'm local to help with the big move!

Quick update!

The Fun Dip come with the kit?

Let me know how good that Ecotech glue is, I've been disappointed with the glue I had been using.

Congrats on a clean drill!!!!

It is explicit in the instruction, in order to get a clean hole, must consume fun dip all at once. Totally worked. Will certainly let you know about the Ecotech, wanted to play around with some rock rubble and frag plugs.

Congrats on a clean drill!!!!

Thank you much, I will be hearing that noise in my nightmares for a few days!

Awesome update! You're moving along at a good pace! Hopefully I'll be around to help from here forward. Just gimme a shout dude.

Nice Build Nate! Maybe next time on the Ghost. Sorry the 16" model was not ready to be released yet. So you installed the overflow on the side panel? Peninsula style?

Not a worry, I'm hoping to get this thing wet by the end of the month so it definitely has had an impact on several hardware choices just in the name of sticking to the timeline!

I did wind up doing the peninsula style, one because that back bracing would have forced my water line almost a quarter down the tank, and the end of the tank I installed the overflow on wasn't going to have much view access anyway. Will certainly create some interesting issues for flow across 8 feet, but I think I should have enough pump options to figure it out!

Tomorrow is the end of the month... You didn't drown in your tank did you???

Not yet, but I'm sure my wife wouldn't mind burying me in it as of now! I should be getting the finished stand by Friday, which is a bummer since I'll miss the Halloween deadline, but hoping to possibly move the tank inside weekend after next!
