Tank is in the house and everything went well! I'll try and post pics from the unload soon but I might be super slow cuz I have a massive headache (sleep deprivation I think).
I was pretty impressed with my husband's skills and ingenuity to get this tank moved the way we did!

Part 2

The pneumatic tires made for a super smooth ride but were very difficult to steer
The hardest part of getting it through the doorway was the 6" step up where the bricks are.
I had to crawl under and through the cart and switch places with him so he could push the other 2 wheels up and over the step. I don't know why but he didn't think I could do it.
In the living room! Man it looks way bigger on that wall than I thought it was going to! Lol
You can see we had a couple little helpers and my oldest was the photographer

Been getting some work done on the stand
The top and bottom had a lip that stuck out like this. I taped it to help keep the would from splintering and getting torn up by the circular saw. Then I drew a line so I would know where to cut to take the lip off and make it flush with the rest of the stand.
Board's about to drop, trying to catch it with my leg so it doesn't drop on my foot AGAIN... Yeah probably shouldn't have worn flip flops.

Now just need to add cross bracing, sand it all down, put moulding on, stain, poly, and done!

Purchasing the big tank…..making a fancy moving mechanism…..and the stand work…..Just became not overly impressive….sorry.

Got the cross bracing put on and sanded down the top of the 2x4's to make it even and level.
Also went shopping for moulding this morning.

I’d be a bit more comfortable topping the riser dimensional lumber with a sheet of ¾ plywood. Not sure if I’d trust my eye to “level” the tops of dimensional lumber with a belt sander. You want all edges of that tank evenly contacting the stand.
What’s the plan….hide the dimensional lumber with 3 ½ plus inch trim? And what are you planning for a final finish….match the original stain or some other finish?

In your pic of the tank in the house, your tank you already have set up , its looks like a cardiff on steroids how many gallons is that I really like the way it looks, subscribing and looks great.

Only the outer edges of the tank rest on the stand.. we put boards on top of the 2x4's today. I didn't get pics when we were finished because the reason I had to stop working is it started hailing and pouring down rain, but I'll post pics tomorrow.
The tank will also sit on a sheet of dense foam so your concerns shouldn't be an issue.
We will be sanding it down and restaining it a darker color to match our living room furniture better. Yes, we will be covering the 2x4's with moulding. The ultimate goal is to have it turn out looking something close to this.

Got some work done yesterday. After sanding down everything with the belt sander, I pushed a few nails in that were getting in the way of sanding and then did more detailed work with the sheet sander.
After sanding, I filled a bunch of places with wood filler so will need to go back over those areas again later.
The hubby removed the piece of trim on each end that covered the crack where the seam is and put the boards on top that the perimeter of the tank will sit on.
We also played around with different moulding choices and decided mostly what we'll be using and put part of it on.

those look like the same wheels i used to move my 265 tank. i just lifted one side at a time with a strap around my shoulder and had my g/f put cement blocks under as i went up. I do have a bilateral hernia and it's things like this that remind me i need to get it fixed lol
