I can feel his tiny little nibbles when he hits the syringe. And he just lives on the front glass now begging for food, lol. I was worried he wasn't getting enough until I took this video and now I'm like, um, I think that much food every day should be good.
So weird that the dottyback will let the clingfish eat first when he tried to murder the new fish I added.
I belive it's a shape and size thing.
And who could hate a cling fish, really.

But why? That would just mean I'd have to tear it apart to get damsels out and then do more water changes to fix high nitrates when my system has been completely stable (nitrates, calcium, alk) for almost two months?

Skipped all the added life between, worked on bacteria. Got a higher ammonia spike to begin with. All the waste, just worked on Bio-Load and Spike of Ammonia, left nitrite to naturally convert to nitrate.
Once no nitrites: Half Water Change & Good Vaccuming..
Trying to use quality saltwater mix, buffers, oxygenate, and quality R/O Water.
Next Day vaccum, 20%water change and rinse sponges/Carbon in old tank water...
Sometimes, After Cycle if Nitrates Higher: Simply suck majority of sand into bucket instead of vacuuming..
Then Simply:
Hot Tap, Stir..Repeat 3
times..pour out.
COLD Tap, Stir..Repeat 3
times..pour almost all but
inch, treat for 5 Gallons
declorinator(Amquel)..Stir,
let sit couple minutes..
pour excess water or
scoop out with net, ring off
excess water..gentle return
to tank.

I tend to do that after bio-load my Cycle...do appropriate water changes, more aggressive...then feed less over time and reduce water changes if reef to 15% or 25%worst case..
But if take majority of sand out after first cycle do not touch filters til next day...
And typically don't take more than 1/4 sand out once well established..but that's preference..

I also worked for a Company, that I serviced Mighty Duck owners tank few years after winning Stanley Cup....And Multi Million Dollar Houses literally Perched over hundred foot cliff to Laguna Beach, Cali.
Cleaned a tank that was so big the Corporation Had to Crane it in through the roof as Building Foundation was Poured...Laguna Hills Area...

I Would Maintence A Tank With Three Cowfish, Recorded as Biggest in Captivity by Long Beach Aquarium for a Counselor. They were 12-16" All body...They would Squirt Water at Surface for Krill... And Never did a water changed that stress them out!

We Drilled and Plumbed it, and he Made It Super Aggressive Freshwater. 30 Full Grown Black with Gold Flake Paranna, Three Different Types of Gars: A Long Nose Gar Ate a Turtle, Three or Four Red-Ear Slider Turtles, Every Type of Ciclid: Hugh> Green Terrors, Red Terrors, Jewels, Texas's, Jack Demsey's, Buttikofri's, Assorted African Ciclids....
We would feed 'em Good, Watch the Pecking Orders, Figured How to Gauge Size to his School of Scaper's...
I used to Joke and say if There was a Drive By in Hawaii Gardens I'd Jump right in his tank cause it's Bullet-Proof!
