300 gallon "outside corner" reef

The reef. 150' visibility. About 80'

Note almost all the yellows and reds are gone. These corals all evolved under these blue wavelengths. Not to say they can't re-adapt to different spectrums, but this proves to me that adding the lower frequencies, like yellow, is all about our viewing pleasure and little about the corals health.

I think this photo shows the proper placement of various corals to best suit their light needs.



At the top is a tabling acro and some other polyps. All the way down to the green leather at the bottom.

Wow what a unique tank! I dig it, and your tangs look so healthy (nice and fat). That blue regal looks awesome!
 
They are frying size...
No really, thanks. I kind of focus on tangs.
 
Well, it’s 2019 and the reef is still going strong.
New additions are the KH Guardian, new Wifi LEDs and soon a Ocean Swipe 360 cleaning and acrylic polishing robot.
