30x30x24 corner tank build

Given this footprint design:

I'd appreciate any feedback on this first attempt (shot from the viewable corner perspective):

Same scape from the top (diagonal overflow is at 11 o'clock):

The view from the front is crazy...it gives an optical illusion that it's a full circle. I like it!

Looks awesome!

Thanks for the kind words. These were obviously some crummy iPhone photos, I'll bust out the tripod tonight and take some worthy shots.

It looks like you really thought this one out. Keep the pictures coming.

The cycle is on, the diatoms are growing, so I figured I would take some non-iphone shots. Instead of unloading the dishwasher . . .

This is the "main" viewable side, at least the side you see first when entering the room from the front door. It is a little tough to get a sense of depth here, but straight on it looks like a flat "O," but viewed from the top the rock looks like a lowercase N. There is quite a bit of coral-mounting space to work with, of various light intensities.

An angled shot if you will from the corner.

And finally, the second viewable side. Very different look, which I'm happy with. I think it will be neat to have two 30" viewable sides that offer a different look.

Thanks for stopping by! Probably another week or two before anything substantial happens, but I'll update as the pace quickens. If you feel like viewing the gallery, Corner Tank Build - mynyrd

Man I can't believe it's been a year since I've posted anything! Unfortunately I've been too busy and only added a yellow tang and some zoos. But I'm getting back in the game but I must eliminate this **** algae! Any help would be appreciated, it's unlike anything I've encountered before!

Some updates first, equipment wise I've added:
-Apex controller
-Vertex Omega 180 cone
-Replaced the MP40 with two tunze 6095 pumps

Now the problem, this weird long brown algae. It's like a cross between thick hair and bubble algae. I did use a fair amount of dry rock from BRS for this build and a few pieces of live rock, which is really the only thing I've done differently this time around. Rock was cured, I didn't really have much of a cycle. Thinking about turning my lights off for a day or two. I run carbon. The algae can be blown off pretty well with a turkey baster but will always come back. Any help would be appreciated!

Man all you need is a clean up crew get your self some hermits and a bunch of snails that crap will disappear

Not a very good sign if snails die quickly that usually means a pest or poor water quality but since you have a yellow tank that's alive and well id say pest.

It's really hard to say what you might need to do or for people to help without seeing your tank spec like nitrates phosphates and what your husbandry is water change frequency etc. there's so many things that could be contributing without some details it's impossible to really say

People say that Dinos will cause snails to die, but that algae doesn't look like dinos.

Phosphates, 0. Nitrates, 0. Seen another thread with the same algae using Marco rock (got mine from BRS). Looks like a weekend sans lights and I'll go back to using GFO for a bit. I don't do water changes more than once a month.

Just setup a new Nextreef MR1 with BRS high capacity GFO and did a north of 10% water change. We'll see if that helps. I had a plumbing piece break on a TLF reactor i was using for carbon so I might set that up next week if need be. Fingers crossed! Until then I'm looking for a nice false perc bonded pair, captive bred, anyone know where I can grab a pair?
