I hope you guys arnt getting tired of my questions.. I'm trying to get everything figured out now while my tank is still cycling.
I have a 6 ft 150 gallon and my current plan was to have a yellow tang, kole tang and naso tang but I really want to try a powder blue (they are probably one of my favorite fish) im just very nervous because they're so delicate
Would I be able to do all 4 or no?

Other stocking plans are:
2 clowns
Royal gramma
Watchman goby/pistol shrimp
Blue jaw trigger
Foxface
Flame angel
Midas blenny
Group of anthias
Maybe a couple reef safe wrasses

Foxface and trigger are also high bio load fish. IMO the smallest tank for a Naso should be 180. They really need a lot of space. They’ll eventually outgrow a 180 and require a 400 or 8 foot tank.

Powder blue will just require you to properly treat prophylactically all new fish in copper or CP to avoid velvet and ich, as they cannot be kept in parasite management systems or “ich management”, by and large.

4 tangs is possible in a 150, with your stocklist you’d be pushing it though. You’ll need to skim for double your tank volume and do frequent water changes to have a chance long-term. For what it’s worth, I overstock my tanks a lot as well. It can be done.

This is the skimmer i have on the tank https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/supe...PNudp5R6u0kabDPmXlPwY1-p4Gu0dLShoClKEQAvD_BwE
Brs rates it for 200 gallons well stocked. Do you think it would be able to handle it?

I do know that about the naso also and if he gets too big i have a good lfs that I can trade him into

I do plan on quarantining everything before it goes in the tank.

Not that it’s always an apples to apples comparison, but my ASM G4+ in my 180 is rated for 400 or 450 I believe. It’s the real deal but that’s because I know my stocking habits.

I have a 125 and have had three of the four fish. My Naso is only about 5” and will eventually outgrow the tank I assume but he hasn’t grown very quick. The Kole was a great fish and was a champ at eating algae but got bullied to death by the yellow tang so I had to give him away before he died. The yelllow is a piece of work. My Naso is great too very easy going and great fish to have. I put them in the tank in the right order too...kole, Naso then yellow. I would love to have a powder blue myself but kind of scared off because of their reputation. I have heard you don’t want to put a powder blue in a tank that isn’t well established. My lfs guy said wait a year then try...but that’s just an opinion. I’m on year number 3 and still not sure..lol. Good luck.

You should be fine, I have a blonde naso, hippo, purple and yellow tang in my 92 they are all having a good time, just start off with the smaller sizes of the tangs you want.

"Order of adding" and "size" are both factors which can directly impact success and overall harmony long term

Agreed, those are indeed factors, but I find that the species involved is the biggest factor.

You’ll be fine just be careful I have a 55 gal tank with a blue tang a yellow tang and a kole tang

In my 150 I have a yellow Tang, Kole Tang 1 juvenile hippo and a medium hippo Tang who I took on till he can get rehomed. If I don't put Nori in then I start to see aggression but for right now they're Switzerland

I think i may eliminate either the kole or the trigger just to reduce the bioload some. If u were gonna eliminate one of thise fish which would you choose? I don't really want either of them to go but i feel it could be too many fish :(

I don't have any fish in the tank yet this is just me planning my stock list.. it was gonna be a blue jaw trigger

I would keep the trigger and trade out the tang. There are other tangs in the tank. The trigger is a different shape and behavior.
