4 tangs in a 150!

It should be explanatory - Water testing, monitoring feedings, cleaning filters, offering a proper diet (notice my fish are uniform, not thin), keeping ammonia at a minimum and the list goes on.
So fresh food and nori strips I assume
I believe the more the better, I have a 120 with 6 tangs in the tank.

Yellow, Purple, Gem.
2 x Blue Hippos
Blonde Naso
that’s amazing too!! I’m having hope !
I have 38 years in, but water managament comes down to keeping maintenance simple yet providing the best diet, highest level of oxygen and checking all parameters daily as my tanks are fullly automated.
I think I won’t turn down the offer .

I have 2 yellows and a sailfin housed in my 150gallon display, 190 total.

I have someone giving a Powder brown tang .

attention Tang police , is this a recipe for disaster?
Nah you should be fine. KeEp them well fed and it’ll keep aggression under control

I've noticed that as well with more feeding my purple tang has become relatively calm. Some nice tanks posted in here. Makes sense as well to have some nice hiding places. Multi tang tanks probably don't like the minimalist aquascape trend.

IDK, I would say that it is worth testing out, the worst cast is that you realize that it is just too many fish or they are too big for the tank and then remove them. If they can be kept safely, and they are healthy then I see no issue with it.

No problem in a tank that big just make sure you can handle the aggression between 4 tangs I suggest doing odd numbers so they can't gang up on each other.

How does this work, couldn't 4 just gang up on 1 if it was an odd number?

if you have 4 tangs it is 2v2 if you have 5 they can't evenly gang up and one will recognize the other as superior and won't attack and then since the larger group won't attack because they aren't being attacked. and since no one is attacking each other they won't need to gang up... best exclamation

If you had 4, what's stopping 3 from picking on 1? Or 1 from picking on 3?

Yeah, I’ve heard the odd numbers thing with regards to keeping shoals/schools of fish (I’m not sure what the logic behind it is, but several people stand by it for shoals in tanks), but never for unrelated species tangs before. Being totally honest, I doubt it would matter.

Regardless, Vetteguy and Mehaffydr - beautiful fish you two have there.

I have
Sailfin
Powder Brown
Yellow Belly Blue Hippo
Chocolate
Orange Shoulder
Scopas
Clown
Naso
They all get along

How's the aggression with that clown tang? I had one in 210g 10 years ago and it was (and still is) the most aggressive fish I've ever owned. Mine would all out attack my hand any time I put it in the water.

You'll be fine.

I have a 90g with a PBT, Naso and Hippo.

Thanks for the advice!

I’m expecting to pick her up Tuesday , tomorrow.

Since I have three tangs already, she will be going in last I’m hoping that will help with the territorial issue
