I shut down my 65gal 6 months ago due to the whole system being setup wrong with cheap diy equipment a very loud home made over flow and over all just being unhappy with the look and feel of the system.
So I now am in the process of gathering equipment modding my stand and so on.
My equipment choices are as follows.
Tank - Aquaeon 40 breeder drilled with overflow and return. “On order”
Sump - pro clear 100 “ordered from amazon
Flow-Icecap gyre 3k “ ordered from amazon
Lights - 2 fluval 36 inch marine reef 2.0 already have the lights form last tank.
Heater - aquatop 200 watt titanium with controller and temp probe. Bought at lfs
Return pump - mag drive 1000 gph
Dose pump - jecod dp-2 “lfs”

Thinking of going air stone in fugue section of sump and not running a skimmer.
Will be running gfo and carbon.

Any thoughts are welcome I’ll load pics when the tank comes in and I start assembly.
My aquascape is already planed although I have not decided on substrate?? Thinking of going live sand.. I have 70 lbs of Fiji rock that I left dry for 4 month then soaked in a solution of rodi and vinegar.

Removed doors and shelve due to sump space not being large enough. Bought mirror and 24 magnets and epoxied them in place to hold mirror. Built shelf for dose pump.

Thanks hope to have water in it tonight.
Did most of the plumbing last night just finishing up this morning. Then onto the sand and scape

Nice! I’m about 7 months in on a new breeder build myself, they are nice tanks.

Rodi production is painstakingly slow... I have a air water ice. 75 gpd system. Does cold water temperature affect output? I’m assuming my water is roughly 40 deg. F
I did make a point to pack the di stage as to not allow it to tumble at all.

Water and salt in place now waiting for the cloudy ness to go away and let the cycle do it’s thing
Icecap 3k is a heck of a pump btw.
36 hrs to get water to temp from 56 to 78
Room temp is 75.

I was curious do you just have one icecap?

Yes just one 3k will likely add a mp10 down the rd but by the look of the flow pattern and volume I don’t think I need any more. I can only ramp the 3k up to about 70% before moving sand. And it can run in reverse so I get a better pattern
