4x2x2 users How much flow?

How much flow do you have in your tanks? I have 1 gyre 150 and a mp40 both on 100% but I don't feel like its enough...Wanted some other opinions. Mine is sps dominant.
 
I have three koralia 850's. The only downside is their size. They work great with wave maker and with three you can have one constantly on and two alternating. Been running this pump setup for two months now and my zoos have doubled along with new growth on my GSP's. Sea whip also forming new branch. My clown doesn't like it when the pumps go on and off though. She has been with me through everything and will adjust I hope. So far she darts to her home when the pumps come on.
 
I have a Gyre 130 on one end, 70% forward flow and 70% reverse flow (reverse flow doesn't do a lot since I didn't swap out one of the paddle wheels to the right combination for this mode). Mp40 on the other end, 60% ReefCrest, tank is mostly leathers, mushrooms and GPS.
 
On my 4x2x2 I have 2 mp40s QD at 100% reefcrest and gyre 150 100% constant and it's enough for my mixed reef (although SPS dominate), but if I was 100% SPS I would want even more. I would probably add another gyre if 100% SPS and put it on the back vertically.

how do you have them on the tank?
 
The gyre is on the side, a couple inches under the waterline horizontally. There is 1 mp40qd on the other side, but about half way down the tank since it will suck air and the new design wetside doesn't have a solid area for some reason. The other mp40 is on the back wall about half way up and 1/3rd in the length on the gyre side due to the rockwork. I still get a gyre flow since the 150 easily overpowers the mp40 and the 40 on the back wall fills in a dead zone. I will be switching the mp40s from reefcrest to lagoon or constant for some more flow.
 
You can actually see all 3 of them in this pic, but the one on the back wall is harder to find.

OP: You are probably messing up the flow pattern with the Gyre by using the MP 40's. I have one gyre 150 in my 6 foot and it is more then enough. In fact, I don't even have it set at 100%.

they are on the same side pointing the same direction. you still think so?
 
I have a 4x2x2 with an MP40QD and an XF-150 (as well as the obvious return pump) and if I ran the 150 at 100% laminar flow it would destroy the sand bad..and has.. I usually either keep it to 20-30% intermitent flow or off and run the MP40.

I have birdsnest at the top of the tank under x2 kessil 360w and some LPS and leathers all of which do just fine very little from either the MP40 or 150. I cant imagine running both at 100%.

Having said that, my tank has limited disruption from live rock

I recently changed the 2 mp40s from reef crest to 100% constant so now I am running a gyre and 2 mp40s at 100% constant and the LPS are still just fine so I would add even more personally if I was all SPS.
 
Wow that's great! My hammer, leather and frogspawn would be blown straight out of the water at that rate

I have the same setup - 1 Gyre xf 130 and 1 mp40.
