They are called Christmas Tree worms (
Spirobranchus giganteus)

Awesome tank guys!!!! Ive been following you on facebook for a while, I have just ordered my 4x4x2 tank also, but mine is going to be mostly LPS and softies, plus my predator/semi aggressive fish tank. Can not wait for it to get here, 9 week wait is going to feel like a year lol

That's the level the alkalinity likes to sit at in the tank so I've never tried to force it and raise it up, most of the guys that I speak to with heavily dominated SPS tanks run their alkalinity at a similar level. If there's one thing I've learned in reefing it's that every tank is different and just because you read somewhere that it's "supposed" to be at that level doenst mean that it has to be. Run with what works for you and your tank.

That will be very cool a few people tried to get me to do the same thing when I built my tank
