500g Build

I LOVE the fact that this is a 48" high stand. I'm 6'4 and have always been frustrated having to hunch over to look at standard 30" or 32" stands. I was measuring out my ideal stand for my (future) 96 x 32 x 28 build and I thought 48" was perfect for the stand height, but I was worried that I hadn't seen many others. You're the wave of the future my friend!

I hear ya on the low stands, my wife and I are both pretty tall and we went with a 42" and we couldn't be happier.

As a matter of fact yes.. I am awaiting a couple addition pieces of wood to complete the last couple doors.

And just today added two special fish...

I have to figure out how to get better pictures, everything seems blue, but those are a male/female pair of 9 inch cross hatch triggers.

I also have several tangs (hippo, blonde naso, purple, powder blue, vlamingi, clown)

Here is the final product. Sorry for the delay. I am trying to figure out why I keep getting brown algae on the front and sand.. anyone have any ideas?

It's still a young tank. All that is are diatoms. There part of the ugly stages.
Do you have a refugium? just wondering.

What do you have as far as livestock to keep the sand bead clean? Sand sifting gobies, nassarius snails, sand sifting stars, sand conchs ??? It appears that you need a lot more of those type of things. The film on the viewing panel looks like it just isn't being cleaned regularly. That is important especially in a newer tank. Most of us will scrape their viewing panels once a day or at least every other day. You would also benefit from increasing the amount of snails you have in there. They will help with the algae on the front.

How is the refugium going? Are you harvesting a lot of Cheato?

Everything in this thread os for SALE. The guy sold his house and I am helping him sell everything off.

You have really nice tank, congratulation on such ans assume build. Question, why the use of the Honeywell temp controller when you have the Apex?

I really like the wood paneling you have. My fiancee and I are in the very early stages of planning a house and having a 300ish gal peninsula tank is in the cards and being planned around. This is really nice to see and gives me some more ideas on where we could go with it. Thank you for sharing!

Edit: Didn't read through the whole thread, I was just so impressed with the woodwork/setup and commented right away; didn't realize that this setup is being taken apart.

Where is everything located? I could be interested in the stand and tank plus other items.
