57g rimless aka "the mistress"

No build thread yet, need to figure out how to post pics from my phone on to here first lol

what kind of phone do you have? should be able to download the reef2reef app for free and upload everything for there. or get the photobucket app and just copy and paste the

alright plumbing is all done and it's 11pm now time to get up at 215am for work at 3. on the good note basically all i have left to do is set up the rodi or run the lines for it and make the doors and then hook everything up for some power and i'm officially running..... YAY!!!!!

****update****
heres the finally plumbing from the other late night(guess its only right cause shes the mistress lol) reactor is all up the fuge lite is mounted

the long travel to the frag tank. came out pretty nice

fuge light mounted

mounted the mp40

side view of the tank and an angle view

rodi mounted up out in the garage and have the line running from the sink in the laundry room to the unit

messy water station for right now. thats the next goal during the cycle when i shouldnt need any water.

and finally the drum for the water about half full now.

The mistress is finally wet. after 5 weeks.
this is 20g

25g in the frag tank mixing

heres another 20g so total of 40g and it's already going over the overflow.

here the sump. the bulb is going to be changed to a par38 5k bulb.

heres she is today. had a couple leaks for the return pump so put some silicone on it last night.

mounted the apex & mp controller next to the a/c.

good pic of the stain color from the sun light.

heres a semi-FTS

well, hopefully all the leaks will be good when i start her back up tonight. gave the tank a lil boast with ammonia to start the cycle.

should be green enough

nice rock work, but the tank is Deep Blue 57g rimless, not Oceanic Illuminati 57g rimless.

I maybe wrong.
The main differences between Deep Blue and Oceanic is the overflow box, 2 loc line area are in the front on deep blue and 2 loc line area are on the sides on oceanic. Also, deep blue has teeth on the 2 sides of the overflow box, but oceanic has none. Plus, deep blue has a cover for the overflow box.

Dang I'm sadden to say I think your correct. :(

a small update got the ato hooked up. changed it up a lil. still have the jbj ato but the aqualifter pump was broken so i got a maxi jet 400 which is going to work great. figure just pull the tubing out to mix in some kalk overnight and then plug it back in and dose. nitrite are up to .025ppm so the cycle is moving along. got the leak on the frag tank to stop finally. everything is looking pretty good.

Are you sure that particular ammonia to help with cycling will be safe? They might actually have something in it that inhibits bacteria since bacteria would eat it while the bottle sits on the shelf.

yes i do. i had a friend do the same thing almost to the tee. his was a 120 with all new dry rock and his tank was cycled in 3 weeks and he transferred all his coral from his 75g into the new 120 right away and he didnt lose a thing. you just have to look at the ingredients and make sure its only ammonia and it doesnt have surfactant. plus, unless you go to a bait shop all the stores put preserves in the shrimp to keep its shelf life last longer.

Not much of an update but the nitrites are up to 1ppm which is good. The AC went out on Thursday so the tank as been pretty much like this the last few days. I'm so glad it's just cycling and it's empty. This would scare everyone who looks on there apex and saw this on the temp probe. AC should be fixed on Tuesday because of Labor Day. And of course a nice $4500 later.

this was on the 10th
well, the a/c is fixed and the house is a nice 78 again. now time for some updates.
found brackets for the tek fixture. so i wont be hanging the fixture anymore. also found a killer deal on a tunze ato so i went ahead and upgraded my ato. went ahead and made a screen top for the 57 tonight and came out pretty good. just incase i want a few wrasse or what not. added a bag of algagen copepods with a shot of rotifer to help cycle and to start getting some pods in the tank.
todays parameters were ammonia 0, nitrites .25ppm, and nitrates 15-20ppm. so, today i went and got a couple small pieces of live rock to spread some coralline and some cheato to get the nitrates down cycle should be done this week or next. now for some pics.
