I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this topic but I'll post it anyways.
I heard from a vendor that someone purchased an orange bubbly type mushroom for $6,000 at the RAP show this past weekend.
Has anyone here heard about it or seen the mushroom?

You mean the WWC bounce?

jesus if that bounce sold for $6,000 I feel sorry for the guy.

The WWC bounce grows pretty FAST. Feed it reef roids or something like that. It will grow.

It also propagates EASILY. Just take a razor blade through it and you get two bounce.

I know someone who knows someone who has a 10 inch diameter WWC Bounce. They grow jesus. Don't have to break into your child's college fund to buy a mushroom.

Whatever, if you have deep pockets feel free to buy your coral.

Does not take Business Degree to realize that the SUPPLY will increase (not at the same fast rate as other corals because wwc bounces rarely come in at wholesalers legally but they are propagating them in the hobby at a fast rate), therefore the price should drop. They're not a sensitive coral and they are propagating fast within the hobby. There's just a bounce craze at the moment. I probably saw 8 different vendors with WWC bounces in their frag tanks at RAP.

Totally agree.
Im tempted to begin the "Kill The Bounce Market Project".
Buy one, Frag a bunch, let em get big, rinse/repeat, get a generous quantity, sell them for $55 a head. Be sure to keep plenty, everytime i see one ill undercut in the same forum.
I know, i know, "But all the ones you sell, someone or many people are gonna turn around and sell them for hundreds even THOUSANDS. I dont care. flood the market. start rumors for those who actually want them in their displays. Make them common. Get others to do the same. Cause frankly, this is getting ridiculous.
I know, i know, "Good luck with that (rolls eyes)".
Just something ive been mulling over.
Rant over.

It was a 5 inch bounce. Yes that's a ton of money but if they wanted to make their money back and frag it they can.

Lol...please don't undercut. I have bounce and paid a pretty penny for it but no where near $6k but then again mine was 2" when I bought it. I should probably hurry up and frag mine before the market gets saturated.

Peroxide scarring of corallimorphs causes increased pedal laceration reproduction to a significant degree says my tank

If anyone propagates bounces with that technique kick me down one.

I bought my bounce for 100 bucks and it took about 5 months to get to 4 inches only 2 babies tho, only cut mine once and never will again

this wasnt a normal bounce, its on reefbuilders.com, huge bubbles and lots of them, but still the price is crazy

This is it. It was a little more than 3" across.

Well its all supply and demand that dictates price. If people are willing to pay well then it is what it is.

I am not gonna bash on the purchase if true. A lot of people with money in the world and them spending it on a WWC Bounce, well it will feed the vendors family well.

I did buy a WWC Bounce last year for a pretty penny and re-sold it a few months later. I used to be in the craze but somewhat fell out. Now I love my acros
